Meet Your Guide
Travis Gardner
Although I was born and raised in a small town in north Idaho, I will always consider myself to be an Alaskan at heart. As a child and throughout my teenage years, I was always outside hunting and fishing the Pacific Northwest. After joining the United States Coast Guard I had the opportunity to live and work in Kodiak AK- I took it and I never looked back. Enjoying everything Kodiak had to offer, I was given the chance to see it from the air while serving as a helicopter rescue hoist operator. Having flown on countless search and rescue cases and helping in saving both people and property I can think of no other place to call home than in the wilderness of Alaska. In this capacity I have had the privilege to attend numerous land, sea, and arctic survival schools as well as being deployed and training in some of the harshest weather conditions Alaska encounters. These tools equipped me with the critical knowledge and invaluable experiences that any local guide needs in the field to experience Alaska to its fullest. As an avid outdoorsman I have traveled the globe from safaris in Africa to the remote tundra of the Arctic, but I immediately fell in love with Kodiak and the majesty of her rivers and emerald ridgelines. As a hobby for both friends and family, I started guiding for freshwater fishing and hunting many years ago while they came to visit during vacations. It was during these excursions I realized my true passion was to use my intimate knowledge of Kodiak and love for the outdoors to fuse together the perfect local freshwater fishing trips for those visiting the isle of Kodiak. Today my wife and I raise our two boys and couldn’t be happier enjoying the stunning views, rugged country, majestic wildlife, and the amazing experience that is Kodiak. Come and see it with us! While you are here, let’s go fishing!
